Collab.

clothes and curly hair © ~shou-yoosur
everything else © ~ablazened

This is by far my masterpiece, as this piece contains most of my effort and work.

As you can see, it contains an actual background and shading effort. Of course, this still contains a lot of cheats. I would like to draw special attention to this piece, because I want to hear comments, good and bad. I also need to know what I can do to improve.

And, yes, the clothing was NOT drawn by me. Hence the detail.

Regarding the gender, you decide.

Hmm well, when I look at this picture I get the sense that this person isn't much of a dreamer by the expression on her face. I say "her" because she has a very feminine face and hairstyle, with the loose top, hoody and lazy position she looks to be a bit of a tom-boy. But I guess she could possibly really be a guy because I don't see any breasts. The way her room's made up is pretty relaxed too, first look would give anyone the impression that a guy stays here.

I really like this art work, it's completely original! I could admire and observe this piece for a long time, the way the bedroom is designed - objects and everything - lets you decide who this person is and what their story is. I like it that you leave the imagination to the viewers. The way everything is placed is definitely in perfect proportion, how the tree branch is in front of your eyes but doesn't completely cover the whole scene and that the tree is blurred for close-up focus effect. The shading is truly well done, the colours in this picture are very harmonic and the angle from which the view is from outside into a persons bedroom window is definitely creative and daring! Very well done! This certainly was pure effort and a master piece

Thank you for the lengthy comment. :heart: I truly appreciate it. It is the most wonderful thing that God has given me today. :heart: Though I must admit, most of those things you mentioned weren't exactly... er... intentional. ^^;

This piece originally began with just the person. Then I decided this person (whether guy or gal) needed clothes. So I asked shou-yoosur to make them (since I'm not that good with clothing). Then I thought the picture needed something different. So I made him/her sit at a large window framed by a bare tree.

Then I saw something. Something incredible. A possibility almost beyond my reckoning.

I saw a background.

A wonderfully semi-proportionate background.

I made the background of this piece purely on artist's instinct. I used no measurements, no geometry, nothing. I just felt my way around.

The SHADING though, was VERY intentional. I tried as best I could to be accurate with the lighting levels on each part of the picture.

Since the light was slanting into the room, I needed to keep in mind how the light would fall on the objects.

This is by far the most difficult task I have ever undertaken. But it turned out wonderful. And the credit belongs not to me, but our wonderful Creator.

Our wonderful creator? I'm not sure who you meant by that (I have an inkling) but I'm sure all the credit for this piece of art goes to you and whoever pitched in (like this person Shou-Yoosur :giggle:) And no problem about the picture being non-intentional, that actually makes me feel more inspired about the way you work! Practically making things up as you go along, that's truly an interesting way of doing things, more relaxed as well. I must say as well, your hard thinking and work paid off while you were figuring out those shadows, I might not be very good at shadows (I usually just guess to be honest) but I can tell when something's done right  It's cool to witness the art of an artist so accurate, sorry if that sounds a bit too righteous :giggle: It's true though ;) And to have the perfect future perspective for the picture, that's really something :w00t: You're very patient too! One of which is my weaker point, having the patience to finish a big picture :faint:

Thanks for taking the time to explain to me the origin of the artwork

Wow. Just, wow.

This could improve a lot with a proper perspective of the things inside the room... but, as I imagine it, that would just ruin the simpleness of this. And it's that simplicity that "makes" this piece. :D

Hey rox, any chance of you extending the left to make it a wide-screen wallpaper? :XD:

I have nothing smart to say...
:iconarctic-ladybug:
This is wonderful! Your color choice it marvelous, along with the details in the back ground. The only fault I can see it the inside left wall, the perspective seems slightly off. Everything else is perfection, and I like the tree, may I have it?

Extending... the left? I'm not sure if I can anymore. :XD: You tell me how to do it and I will.
